RV sites off I-40 in Alma

Full-hookup pull-throughs by the night or the week, minutes from the I-40 and I-49 interchange.

Lining up the pull-through

Most trouble at a campground starts in the last hundred yards: a tight turn, a low branch, a site that wants you to back in at dusk. Every site here is a pull-through, 100 feet long and 30 feet wide, so you drive in straight and stop where the hookups fall.

The park sits at 3539 N Highway 71 in Alma, just off the I-40 and I-49 interchange, so the last stretch after you leave the interstate is short. The office keeps hours Monday through Saturday from 9 to 6 and Sunday from 1 to 6. Running behind? Call (479) 632-2704 and tell the office when to expect you. One Google reviewer who rolled in later than planned wrote that staff walked them to their reserved spot.

What each site already has

Electric is 30 or 50 amp, and every site has water and sewer at the pad. Garbage is included in the rate. Know your rig's amperage before you book and match it to the site.

Each site has its own fire pit. It is not a shared ring, it is yours, and the general store sells bundles of wood, bags of ice and propane refills, and propane is available on site. WiFi is on the grounds, and so is a laundromat that stays open around the clock.

Sort this before you roll in

Book through the online calendar, where you can see which dates are open, or call the office. Rates run $50 for a night, $280 for seven nights and $650 for a month, and the rate board below says the same thing.

Plan your supply run before you park. Harps Grocery and Walmart Supercenter are within two miles, and Loves Travel Stop, Workman Hilltop Travel and a Valero sit on the same stretch for fuel. Hiking trails are about five minutes away, and the park has its own catch-and-release fishing pond.

Three rates, one site type. Water, sewer and garbage are already in the price, and the same pull-through is what you get whether you stay a night or a month.

Some parks pack sites shoulder to shoulder beside a dealership lot or a highway shoulder. This is twenty-three wooded acres with sunsets over the water and enough distance between sites that you hear the evening instead of your neighbor's television.

Staying longer than a week? The monthly rate is the same pull-through, and the office can walk you through it.
